Lightning Strike - July 14 2024
On Sunday July 14 2024, at 1:56 a.m. St. Giles was struck by lightning. It blew off the top part of the cross and damaged some of the brickwork and concrete cap of the bell tower. It also took out our fire alarm system, telephones, internet, and wifi. On August 12, 2024, a new cross with lightning rod was installed and the bell tower masonry repaired.
