I want to make sure that we all have access to three resources: our prayerbook, the Bible, and our readings for daily prayer and Sundays.

  1. think an easy "one-stop shopping" place is When you arrive at that page you will find on the left side a list of resources which includes an electronic BCP, the daily readings on on a calendar, and the weekly readings for Sunday worship.

As Saturday evening draws to a close, I have chosen two prayers for tonight as a preparation for worship tomorrow--a list of electronic options for which is available on our diocesan web-page,

1. O God, the source of eternal light: shed forth your unending day upon us who watch for you, that our lips may praise you, our lives may bless you, and our worship on the morrow give you glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (BCP, p.123)

And a prayer which is meant to remind us of the experience of the two disciples who meet Jesus on the road to Emmaus but do not recognize him. Even so, they feel drawn to him and invite him to stay with them and the others (the story is in the gospel of Luke 24:13-35, you may access it through the Lectionary page listing on the left side of the bcponline page table of contents or just google the citation) .

2. Lord Jesus, stay with us, for evening is at hand and the day is past: be our companion in the way, kindle our hearts, and awaken hope, that we may know you as you are revealed in Scripture and the breaking of bread. Grant this for the sake of your love. Amen

God's peace and joy
